1. Who are you “Guys”?

We’re not even all guys! We are Andy, Liz, and Tom, and we are the trio of The House Guys. However, we can’t do this all alone. Our team also consists of a licensed contractor, closing attorney, and a real estate agent (for when we aren’t your best option.)

2.  What do you guys do?

We buy houses in Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. Any type, any condition, any size. We’re the best people to reach out to if you want to sell your house without dealing with agents and the traditional listing process. Even if time isn’t the issue, you might still like to sell your home without your neighbors knowing or your house getting scoped out by everyone online.

3.  Is a “We Buy Houses” company my best option?

Most of the sellers we’ve worked with in Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. were not in a rush to sell. Most just wanted to list their home without an agent because of past bad experiences (and rightly so.) Or, they didn’t want to deal with repairs, walk-throughs, open houses, cleaning, and annoyances of fixing small details for the buyer.

4.  Will you guys pay a fair price?

Yes, we buy houses for a fair price. Recognize though that there is a difference between a fair price and “market value.” If the house is in need of updates or repairs then that value will be taken into consideration when we make our offer. In situations involving seller financing, we are sometimes able to offer a greater amount than we could offer with cash.

5.  Will you guys list my house on the MLS?

Nope! We will NOT list your house on the MLS. Our goal is to buy your house as-is and fix or update it to either sell for a profit or keep it in our portfolio. If we find out together that your situation is better suited for a real estate agent, we have many top agents to help you through that process.

6.  Should I just be listing my house with an agent?

Honestly, we don’t know yet! We would need to take a look at your house, situation, expectations and timeline to give you a realistic answer. We are always happy to provide you with our professional recommendation of how you should sell your house in D.C., Maryland or Virginia.

7.  How can you guys serve DC, Maryland, and Virginia with only three people?

Our team runs an incredibly tight ship. Don’t be surprised if we answer your phone calls at 11pm or 5am! We work really hard, and we’re here to serve you no matter what.

Over the years we have built up the cash, systems, and experience to make sure that selling your house to us is as simple as possible. 8.  Is there any obligation when I submit my info?

There are no obligations at all. We completely understand that you have multiple options. 9.  Do I need to clean or fix anything before I move out?

No! Not even a little. Take whatever you want to keep and leave the rest to us. Trust us when we say we’ve seen it all. Keep things easy for yourself and leave all the stuff you don’t want to us! If you have items of value that you no longer want but would like to sell first, we can set you up with a company like MaxSold. They also run a tight ship, and they’re just as simple as us!

10.  Do you buy houses outside of the D.C. Metropolitan Area?

We get this question nearly every day. We buy a lot of houses. And what do we do with them? Typically, we buy your house, rehab it and then sell it for a profit.
